What counties does DWIG work in?

DWIG focuses on the Hoosier Uplands region of 11 counties across southern Indiana:
Brown, Crawford, Daviess, Dubois, Greene, Lawrence, Martin, Monroe, Orange, Owen,
and Washington. This is where we live- our Board members and staff are from Greene,
Monroe, and Martin counties. We care about this region, and we want to mobilize
church and community members to use their gifts in love to renew their communities;
that is DWIG’s mission.
This is a beautiful region with many resources, but also home to some of the state’s
most economically distressed rural communities. Several counties in this region are
designated as “economically at-risk” or “distressed” (Indiana’s Office of Community and
Rural Affairs), facing high poverty rates and other challenges. Yet we see the resilience
and efforts of many people who work together to make a difference, including faith
communities.
We have partnered with Nashville UMC (Brown County), Washington Christ UMC
(Daviess), First Baptist, First Presbyterian and Linton First UMC (Greene), Bedford First
Christian Church (Lawrence), Cornerstone and Shoals UMC (Martin), St. Paul’s UMC
and Christ Community Church (Monroe), Beechwood Christian (Orange), and Salem
Presbyterian Church (Washington Co). We continue growing new church and
community partnerships.
